Adjunct Professor: Introduction to American Government (Sprint 2025)

Course Description: POS 1031: Introduction to American Government

This course will survey the basic institutions of the American political system, with emphasis on Congress, the Presidency and the courts, and a detailed analysis of the Bill of Rights. It will analyze recent changes to show how the American political system functions in the "media age".

Qualifications:

Education: MA in Political Science, Public Administration, Government, or a JD. Previous teaching experience is required.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Salary: Base rate: $3,375.00 per 3 credit course.

Terminal Degree: Adjunct Faculty members who hold a terminal degree shall be paid an additional $300.00.

Hours Expectation: Spring Semester 2025 (Jan 21st 2025 – May 9th, 2025h)

Class Schedule: TBD by professor

Format: Courses will be run fully in person in the spring at Manhattanville University
